The PHM71 Mk2 Acid-Base Analyzer is a fully transistorized, line-operated instrument especially developed for determining the acid-base status in blood in conjunction with BMS Blood Micro Systems.
The basic unit of the PHM71 Mk2 is a pH meter with pointer indication. The pH meter will accommodate two plug-in modules; a PHA934 Po2 Module and a PHA936 SBC Module for direct standard bicarbonate determinations can be mounted instead of the Pco2 module.
The amplifier of the pH meter has an extremely stable zero and its temperature drift is far below any level of practical importance. The high input impedance permits the use of all commercially available electrodes.
The PHM71 Mk2 covers the pH ranges 0 to 14 and 6.6 to 8.0.
Carbon dioxide tension (Pco2) can be measured in the ranges 8 to 80mm Hg and 8 to 160 mm Hg.
Oxygen tension (Po2) can be measured in the ranges 0 to 160 mm Hg and 0 to 800 mm Hg.
