Like the IK-7100A Toshiba recently released, the IK-WB70A has a rugged weatherproof IP66-rated housing that protects it from rain, dust and extreme environments. Surveillent recommends the IK-7100A Series cameras and the IK-WB70A for 24-hour video surveillance of parking lots, ATMs, loading docks, lobby entrances and other detail-sensitive outdoor applications.
By integrating weatherproofing, the IK-WB70A is a complete network video solution that operates without the need for additional accessories. It comes equipped with day-night imaging and IR illuminators that extend visibility up to 49-feet in complete darkness, as well as a wide dynamic range CMOS 1/3.3-inch sensor to cope with high-contrast lighting conditions.
Toshiba's concentration on IP networking has enabled the company to bring new advances to video surveillance. For example, the IK-WB70A incorporates simultaneous dual streaming, dual-codec (MPEG4/Motion-JPEG) compression to deliver both high-quality and bandwidth-efficient video formats. Low-bandwidth networks will benefit from the smaller file sizes of the MPEG4 format, while higher-quality Motion-JPEG compression captures needed details during critical moments.
Up to ten authorized viewers can access the live video feeds simultaneously to extend monitoring capability, with or without connecting to a PC. That's because the IK-WB70A is one of the first surveillance cameras to support 3GPP Mobile Surveillance, enabling the remote viewing of video on compatible phones or PDAs. The camera streams HTTPS encrypted video at 30 frames-per-second at resolutions as high as 640 x 480.
Rounding out the camera's outstanding feature-set is a 3.3mm to 12mm Varifocal lens system with 4x digital zoom, Power over Ethernet (PoE), motion detection, SIP 2-way audio, Linux embedded OS, and privacy masking.
