Ce-12 portable radiotelemetry receiver
Don't get me wrong, the unit listed here has not incurred such trauma and is "essentially" brand-new, the receiver unit purchased by me March 07, 2005 and the 3-element Yagi antenna purchased June 30, 2004 as a back-unit to my older unit that I normally used in my tracking studies with spotted turtles. I used the unit and yagi antenna listed a single time one summer for use in a several-hour field demonstration of basic radio-tracking and radio-telemetry principles that was conducted in mowed grass and grassy fields at a local nature center. Other than that, it has sat in storage in my research equipment chest in the house. Stored in controlled temperature and humidity conditions with moisture absorbing packets kept in the storage chest that were regularly monitored and replaced, if necessary. Look closely at the pictures and you will see this unit is in immaculate condition, with only a few minor surface blemishes on the top plate!
I am surplusing this unit since I am retired and no longer doing active field research with the turtles or other wildlife, and focusing on compiling and analyzing data for publishing the results of my long-term studies. I am keeping one CE-12 unit (my oldest) just in case I take on some consulting work in the future that involves radio-tracking.
