Sokkia Set 2B Total Station Theodolite Survey Instrument
This is an older Survey tool that is in very good shape for a well used tool. It comes with a battery charger and two batteries. One battery is factory, in good shape and the other one has recently been re-built in 2009 and increased to a 2.7 AH capacity. Also included is the factory rain cover. It does not have the full manual, but it comes with several laminated cards explaining basic instrument operation. I have never connected it to a data collector so I can only assume it works based on the tests ran by Monsen Engineering in 2004. All the motion clamps work perfectly and the motion knobs feel tight and new. The upper motion is a Duel Speed (coarse and fine) that works excellent. The cross hairs are clear and bright and in good shape. The tribrack is in good shape and all leveling screws are in excellent working order. The instrument has level compensation. Also the instrument stays very well on the back-sight with very little drift usually 2 or 3 seconds per setup and check.
The last photo explains a error code that I was receiving immediately after purchasing the used instrument from Monsen Engineering Co. in 2004. It was a mystery what was causing error code 101, and they could not explain it. I later discovered that it was a setup error that was causing the code. The instrument has a rapid electronic setup screen (displayed with a X=0 00'00" Y=0 00'00") which I was using to setup quickly. It apparently is out of adjustment and the compensator would then trigger the code. However by carefully using the horizontal bubble instead to level the instrument carefully It would not give me code 101. I do not know if the electronic setup can be adjusted or not, I never asked my repair facility.
The instrument weighs approximately 31 lbs in the box.
